San Francisco artisan chocolatier specializing in single-origin chocolate made with just two ingredients – cocoa and sugar! Dandelion is an ethical chocolate company that visits and works with farmers directly in the country of the cocoa’s origin. Dandelion is Clarissa’s personal favorite and offers a huge selection of bars, confections, small bites, and hot chocolate mixes, as well as pastries, cakes, and chocolate drinks in their in-person stores.
Midunu is an artisanal, handcrafted, Ghanaian, female-run chocolate company that produces Africa-inspired chocolate. Chef Selassie Atadika curates truffle boxes with authentic African flavors, offering a mix of white, milk, and dark chocolate. Their facility is in Accra, Ghana. Midunu works with local farmers and producers to create confections right in West Africa where the majority of the world’s cocoa is produced. Strangely enough, very little chocolate is actually produced in West Africa, so Midunu is one of the few companies that facilitates the process from bean to bar in cocoa’s country of origin.
Divine Chocolate is a fair trade farmer co-op whose story all started with a group of farmers in Ghana that became the first farmer-owned fair trade chocolate company. Divine offers a broad selection of chocolate bars, mini bar flights, crispy thins, and more.
